I wrote about 10 Los Angeles dive bars for Matador Network. It compliments this map of like 60 bars in LA that I made a few months ago.

Los Angeles has a plethora of watering holes for every demographic. There are sports bars for witless tourists, speakeasies for $15-cocktail-swilling foodies, and exclusive lounges for celebrities and those willing to pay a premium cover charge. This list is none of those. It’s a guide to bars with cheap drinks, lively characters, and a lack of pretension.

The only “Bars in LA” article you’ll read that uses the words French Stewart and septic tank in the same column inches.
my bicycle ride today was very relaxing, I just beat out the rain, and I made crucial stops at the batting cage, M Street Coffee, and burrito land.
I got to photograph LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa with his photographer/my roommate at the Chinese New Year celebration. check out our photos on his flickr.
This LA rain created one helluva double rainbow.
Here’s a composite of 3 different shots from my iPhone.
